Curfew

 

An Ordinance relative to children going aboard on the streets, alleys and public grounds of the City of Caspian.

The City of Caspian ordains:

 

1.      No minor under the age of 12 years shall loiter, idle or congregate on any public street, highway, alley or park between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., unless the minor is accompanied by parent(s) or guardian(s), or an adult delegated by a parent(s) or guardian(s) to accompany the child.

2.      A minor under the age of 16 years shall not loiter, idle or congregate on any public street, highway, alley or park between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., unless the minor is accompanied by parent(s), or guardian(s), or an adult delegated by a parent(s) or guardian(s) to accompany the minor, or where the minor is upon an errand or other legitimate business directed by the parent(s) or guardian(s).

3.      Any person of the age of 16 years or over assisting, aiding, abetting, allowing, permitting or encouraging any minor under the age of 16 years to violate the provisions of sec. 1 or 2 hereof is guilty of a misdemeanor.

4.      When the parent(s) or guardian(s) of any minor, or any other person(s) shall be convicted of the violation of Section 3 of this ordinance, the parent(s), guardian(s), or other person(s) shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $100.00, or sentenced to incarceration in the Iron County Jail, not to exceed 15 days, or both fine and imprisonment, plus costs of prosecution.
